Hi guys
You said on the show that you don’t know how could an app be in the “In review” status for more than few hours. Well:

I hate to be in such minority.

@Aleksandar
Yes, there are definitely cases like yours where Apple calls the app “in review” for an extended period of time. Sorry to hear you are in that minority.
The point we were trying to make is that the current statuses today still don’t tell us much – which is ultimately when can I expect my app to be actually reviewed and approved?
According to Apple[1], they review 8,500 apps a week across “more than 40 full time trained reviewers”. Let’s say they are working 7 days a week — that is 1,214 apps a day that need to be approved. If there are 40 reviewers, each reviewer must review 30 apps a day. Assuming each reviewer works 8 hrs a day, that leaves them with just 16 minutes to review an app.
So, it is clear the “in review” status doesn’t really mean Apple is actively reviewing your app. Given the vast number of apps that need to be approved, the “in review” time for the vast majority of apps must be very small.
I hope your app gets approved soon. I’ve been there before with the waiting game and it stinks.

Hey guys. Thought I’d chime in. My app has been “In Review” for about four days so far.
I agree with you. The reviewer hasn’t been looking at the app that whole time. There’s some in-app purchasing to look over. Maybe that’s making my “In Review” state longer.
I’m enjoying the podcast. Keep it up!
